I went for a walk this morning and I must have really gotten into it because believe it or not I got lost

Yep, in my own neighborhood I got lost. I was trying to find hills to go up and somehow no matter where I went it was downhill. How is that possible? At some point I knew I would have to go up. So I kept walking and walking and walking all downhill.

Finally I saw a street that looked like it was all uphill so I went up. Well it did go up but when I got to the top I had no idea where I was. I always take my phone with me when I go run or walk but this was at 6 am so who do I think I am going to call?

After about 45 minutes I figured it out and got home. I think I need to get out more! I got home and got ready for work and packed all my food for the next couple of days so I will have it in the fridge at work.

I had to run to the supply house so on the way back I stopped at McDonalds for an ice tea. You would think I would have tasted it before I dumped 4 packets of splenda in it but of course I didn’t. Turned out to be sweet tea- really sweet tea by the time I got done with it. Hopefully that will cure my sweet tooth for a couple of days.

Gotta get to bed I have another long day tomorrow. I think I will stick to the elliptical in the morning…

Tuesday July 28, 2009
Today was supposed to be a run day but for some reason I just didn’t feel like it so I got on the elliptical instead

I was working on ideas for our new website. A lot of ideas were rolling around in my head so I thought I would try to record a memo on my phone while I was on the elliptical. Why do I keep thinking I can multi-task on the elliptical?

It never turns out the way it seems like it should in my head! I have fallen off, clocked myself with a free weight and this morning my memo sounded more like a bad adult phone service call than a memo that I recorded for myself. I was a little out of breath and couldn’t focus on what I was recording so basically all that was recorded was a couple of words then breathing and a pause, then a couple of unrelated words and breathing again. I hope I deleted that- I better remember to check and make sure.

So I finally gave up and just watched CMT and no I didn’t try to dance again. I did a lower body workout and then ran Trent to football practice.

I came back home to make breakfast, pack lunches, and put Mexican chicken in the slow cooker. We picked up Trent from practice and headed to the lake.

Bill and I worked on the websites while the boys swam. At one point though we stopped to try to figure out what they do out in the water for so long. We forgot to bring the football so they had nothing to play.

Then it occurred to me that they know there is no way I am coming out in the water that far out- I hate cold. So, they can fight and wrestle and rough house all they want and there is absolutely nothing I am going to do about it as long as there are out there.

I think they have a sort of brother code that says if one of them get hurt they have to play if off so I don’t catch on and make them stop. That is the only way I can think of that one of them does not get hurt for hours at a time out there.

These guys are pretty big guys and really strong. A couple of weeks ago Trent and Don were coming out of the laundry room and Trent shoved Don in the hallway to get passed him and he went completely through the wall. You know the cartoons where Tom and Jerry are fighting and Tom goes through a wall and you can see arms and all in the hole? Yep, that’s what we have downstairs a giant Donald sized hole in the wall.

We are going to have to find someone that can fix that soon……

I vary my workouts almost everyday and today was a run day  I am really proud that I can run now for 30 minutes even if it is more of a jog for the most part. I am not sure if I love running but I do love that I am getting stronger everyday so I keep at it.

Anyway, I woke up this morning and got ready to leave the house to run and it was raining. I mean really raining. My son suggested that I go run in the rain. Apparently in football practice rain is a good thing. I have never ran in the rain so I did it.

Well, I didn’t think that idea all the way through. I had on a white tank top and terry cloth yoga pants. First off once the pants got wet they stuck to me and felt really heavy. Then the white tank top- even tank tops are pretty much see through when they get wet. And I was freezing.

Are you getting the picture? I hope not because it was not a pretty sight. Oh yea did I mention it was also trash day? There I was running in the rain in plastered to me terry cloth pants, and a transparent top showing that I was obviously cold and I passed the garbage truck like 10 times.

That poor guy looked at me like he couldn’t figure out if I was homeless, running from a bad guy or just plain nuts. This is why I like to run pre-dawn normally. Then no one can see me looking so weird!

I went to work for a couple of hours and then left to take the boys bowling. Normally the boys are really well behaved and the people at the bowling alley know them. I needed to run to get some milk for dinner so I got them started with their games I ran to Wal-Mart.  I came back about 20 minutes later to find that the twins had gotten into a fight while I was gone

Not an argument but an actual fist and feet kicking fight on the alley. I was mortified. I used my scary calm voice and told the twins to turn in their shoes and go get in the van. They hate that voice I think because they know it was the calm before the storm.

Once in the van the calm voice was replaced with yelling that was so loud that people in the bowling alley looked out to see what was going on. I don’t normally yell at them so this definitely got their attention. That and the fact that I grounded them from their cell phones and video games for a week.

That actually sounds more like punishment for me so we will so how long this lasts…

Sunday July 19, 2009
The boys and I went to the National Hot Air Balloon Championships this morning in Middletown.

The balloons fly in around 7 and try to throw a sand bag onto a target on an airstrip and then fly back up to chase after 2 lead balloons. It is really cool to see them come in.

We were eating breakfast and looked up as all 30 or so balloons started filling the sky above us. We do this every year and I love it. I made low fat brownie cupcakes for them and bananas. Not the healthiest but not the worst either.

We got home and I was in the mood to cook. I made breakfast casserole for Bill. One of my clients sent me a great recipe for zucchini bread and my son’s girlfriend brought me some zucchini a couple of days ago so I decided to give it a try.

The recipe is on the message boards.  I have never even tried zucchini bread before so I didn’t know what to expect. They were great! We ate all of it pretty quickly.

While the bread was cooking I put turkey chili in the crock pot for dinner. It seems like all I have done today is eat! I didn’t work out today either so I am feeling kinda blah tonight. Tomorrow is a run day so I will feel better then.

Okay, so I now have a new goal but don’t laugh

There is a show called “She’s Got the Look” that is a modeling reality show for women over 35. I want to apply for the next season. I read that they will start taking applications early August with auditions in the fall.

That gives me a few weeks to reach my goal and tone up my stomach and legs more. The thought of being on national tv in a swimsuit is a pretty big motivator. Plus, that would be some pretty good advertising for the site. Who knows I could be rich and famous by this time next year

I know that was a bit of a stretch but I have a pretty active imagination. I need to change my workouts again. I have been doing the same thing for a few weeks so it is time to change it up.

I went for a run this morning and had to push myself to finish. It was pretty humid so I got out of breath. I finished but it was a struggle today. Tomorrow is my Turbo Jam day so I don’t have to worry about the weather affecting me. But lack of sleep will so I am going to dream land to imagine my new modeling career….

We have been working really, really hard on the website and I am proud of how it is looking

I worked a lot in the last few days writing the information for the site and Bill has gotten it into the pages. We still are going to put links for things that we feel will help with the program.

I have used a few great sites for products and those are the ones that I talk about. I especially like the site that has hypnosis and subliminal messaging for weight loss. It is
www.musicforchange.com

I overslept this morning so I only did 25 minutes on the elliptical and a quick upper body workout. I tried to combine them and do a few bicep curls while I was on the elliptical.

It was a little more difficult than I thought and then the video for “Sideways” came on and you remember what happened last time right? I put the weights down before I fell off again. There is just something about that song. I feel like I have to try to do the arm movements like they do in the video. I didn’t fall off today though!

So I got ready for work and went in to do a couple of highlights then ran home to take the boys bowling. It is funny the way they bowl when they are sore from football practice. They couldn’t use their legs much so they did some pretty interesting bowling.

A couple of times I was afraid the ball was going to go through the floor because they kind of just threw the ball at the pins instead of rolling it. I tried to act like it wasn’t funny so they wouldn’t keep doing it and get us kicked out but it was very funny!

I came back home and threw dinner in the oven. It was a chicken alfredo. I went back to work and the guys made the whole wheat pasta to go with dinner and they even cleaned up after they ate!! Got home and guess what I did? Worked on the website.

What I should have done was my hair. My grey is really shining already. It is pretty sad when the hairstylist has to hide roots with headbands and eye shadow. Yes that’s right eye shadow. I learned this when I worked for Glamour Shots years ago.

If someone can for pictures and they needed their hair touched up the grey would show up even more because of the lighting. So we would blend it with eye shadow. At this point though I really need to do my hair because I will run out of eye shadow soon….

I missed posting a blog yesterday

I feel asleep while I was writing so I finally just gave up and went to bed. I figured if I was boring enough to put myself to sleep then you certainly wouldn’t want to read it.

I went for a run this morning and ran for the full 30 minutes that I am always talking about. I have only lost 1 more pound so I am inching toward my second goal for the summer. I would like to say that I don’t know why it is so slow but that would be a lie.

I have been really hungry lately so I have eaten a little more than usual. Trust me I am not a nice person when I am hungry so I am sure everyone around me is glad that I have eaten a little more in the last few days.

We are re-doing the website again. I wonder if we will ever get it to a point where Bill and I both are happy with it. We had a major creative disagreement yesterday so I decided to try to edit the site myself.

This is Bill’s area of expertise so I really shouldn’t have tried to be stubborn and work on it myself. I messed up a couple of pages that Bill now has to fix. I guess I really showed him! Lol

From now on I am going to stick to writing the content for the site and let Bill handle all of the technical stuff. I am getting sleepy so I better go to bed before my post looks like this again- jklj; jlkjl;jkl sdfa

Sunday July 11, 2009

I got up this morning and made the guys their Sunday breakfast they like.

It is hashbrown casserole and even though it is not the healthiest thing I try to cut down on the calories by using low fat cheese and egg whites instead of the whole eggs.

After breakfast we got ready to go to the lake. We stayed for a few hours and then headed back home.

I didn’t start anything for dinner before we left so we grabbed Taco Bell- again. Bill could seriously eat this stuff everyday. We got the chicken fresco tacos. They are fairly low in fat and calories.

The boys were exhausted so they took a nap and I started working on some new ideas for the website.

It is now after one in the morning and I am still up. Not sure this has ever happened before. The same movie has now played 3 times since I started working on this stuff. I started to say “who watches the same thing over and over” but apparently I do so never mind.

I better get to bed- Trent has football early in the morning. It is bad enough he has to be dropped off in a mini van with Rhonda’s Hair Studio on the back window and now magnetic signs for Weighless Habits so I need to at least look half way normal when I take him. Or I could just drop him off around the corner so no-one can see. Nah, much more fun to embarrass him a little

Saturday July 10, 2009

Friday was a really busy day at work and I didn’t get home until late.

I was completely exhausted so I fell asleep while I was writing my blog. I woke up to find I had written- gjklwjkj ddskg gdsjkljkg lklksda. I figured I probably should just go to bed and write today unless some of you can decipher gibberish.

I got up this morning and jumped on the elliptical for 30 minutes even though I really didn’t feel like it so I took it kind of easy. I did a quick ab workout and then got ready for workout.

I accidentally double booked an appointment this morning and I was a little nervous that they might be a little annoyed at me but they were both very, very nice about it. If either of you are reading this thank you so much for being so understanding

I had a really fun time at work both last night and this morning. Sometimes my clients are so fun I forget I am actually working. Sometimes not so much.

I got done with work and usually on Saturdays I go tan on my way home. I go to “A Place To Tan”. This place is always extremely clean and the girls that work there are really nice. Anyway, I didn’t go today because it was storming and I wasn’t so sure about tanning in a thunderstorm.

So I got home and Bill wanted to show me how toTwitter. I am really trying to get it but I just don’t think I am interesting enough to do that all day long but I do enough ditsy things every day that someone find it humorous.

I am going to try to start “tweeting” Sunday and see how it goes. Bill has put a link on the website to Twitter so wish me luck. The guys ordered “wingzone” for dinner. Trent had a friend over today so they ordered 100 wings.

I thought that was a little much but an hour later all of the food was gone! That is what happens when you feed 4 football players. They ordered all hot and spicy wings. It cracks me up when they eat spicy stuff and it makes their noses run.

I don’t like spicy stuff or making my nose run so  I had salsa and chicken with sour cream and cheddar cheese again. I have a craving for this a lot just not hot salsa.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a really pretty day so I think we are going to go to the lake again so I am going to get ready to go to bed.

Bill likes for me to make hashbrown casserole for breakfast on Sundays. I try to make it as healthy as possible. I will post the recipe on the forum. I guess I am going to go “tweet” that I am going to bed…..

Thursday July 9, 2009
Beginning Sunday we are going to begin offering the program for free one week at a time! Keep checking in for more details.....

You can now follow me on Twitter
http://twitter.com/weighlesshabits

I have not found any other program like this out there and we would like to be able to share it with as many people as possible. Please check the website often as we continue to change and grow.

So now back to me…..(ha ha)

This morning I got on the elliptical for 35 minutes while I watched CMT. My elliptical is downstairs next to sliding glass doors with a very thin curtain. This is a little before 6 so it is still fairly dark outside and I have the light above me on.

In case you are
wondering I am setting the stage for another one of my “duh” moments. Anyway I am working up a sweat watching Dirks Bentley video for Sideways WHEW!!!. Sometimes I like to pretend like I am dancing while on the elliptical and I love this video!

So I start trying to do the arm
movements like they do on the video and lost my balance and fell off. At the same time my dog started barking at the door beside me which lets me know someone is probably out there.

I peeked out a little corner of the curtains, of course looking even more like a dork, to see a man walking his dog must have seen all the commotion. I couldn’t tell if he was amused or concerned?

So now I wonder how many other people have seen some of the odd things I do. I
know that I am not the most graceful when I do my “Turbo Jam” workouts and I do not look anything like the women on the belly dancing workout on Exercise TV on Demand. Should I turn off the lights when I workout downstairs before it is light out? After my comedy performance for all of the neighbors I got ready for work.

I had a long day planned but for one reason
or another I ended up with 3 no show appointments. That has never happened before and I hope it doesn’t happen again. I like to stay busy all day. If I have long breaks I lose momentum and get tired faster. But the upside is I made it to the end of the boys last football camp workout.

Starting next week they will begin regular middle school football practices and
parents are not encouraged to stay and watch. After years of staying through every football practice this will be weird to just drop them off.

What will Bill and I do with the extra time alone? H
mmm……

Wednesday July 8, 2009
I try to alternate my workouts and today was another run/jog day.

I reached my goal of jogging for 30 minutes on Monday so today I wanted to try to jog 30 minutes with a couple of bursts of sprinting. I did jog for the full 30 minutes and I sprinted the last couple of minutes.

Not quite my new goal yet but a couple of years ago I started out with 15 minutes on the treadmill. I keep pushing myself a little at a time and have really made some pretty big changes. So I really do try to practice what I preach about changing habits a little at a time.

Anything is possible if you take something difficult and break it up. You just have to want it bad enough.

I went in to work this morning for a couple of appointments and then took the boys bowling for a couple of games. We go every Wednesday with the “kids bowl free” coupons. If you don’t know about this it is pretty cool. If you go to
www.kidsbowlfree.com and sign up kids 15 and under  they get coupons emailed for 2 free games of bowling everyday this summer.

You can also purchase a family pass for $23.95 for up to 4 adult  family members to also bowl all summer. You can choose from different locations. We use ours at Capri Lanes in Moraine. The people there are always really nice and it is not over crowded. The guys really love it!

After bowling I took the guys home and went back to the salon for the evening. I needed to have a quick dinner with me at work so I took a can of Swanson canned chicken breast and some Kroger salsa and mixed it up and added some Kroger 2% shredded sharp cheddar cheese and a little fat free sour cream.

I know sounds a little weird but it is really good and easy! You know how some days at work are better than others? This one was one of the better ones.

My last client tonight always makes me feel like I am the best stylist in the world. Her hair really is very cute though if I do say so myself.

There is nothing like it when people love their hair when I am done! I have quite a few that make me feel great when I am supposed to be the one doing that for them. But then there a couple that no matter what I do I never feel like it is enough.

I need to just focus on the good and be grateful to have such a great job and an awesome group of people that pay me to play dress up with them all day!

Tomorrow is a 12 hour dress up day so it is time for bed!

Tuesday July 7, 2009
My legs were pretty sore this morning so I took it a little bit easy. I got on my elliptical at a slower pace for 45 minutes and then did a lower body workout on Exercise TV on Demand.

The boys and I went  to see “Journey to the Center of the Earth”  The Regal Cinemas in Beavercreek have free movies on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10 am.

After the movie I dropped the boys off at home and I  went to Kroger. I make a game every week of trying to see how much money I can save. Today was not the greatest savings day. I only saved $48 - not bad but not great either.

We had leftovers for dinner and then went to Oxford Ohio to watch my oldest son play baseball
with his friends. His best friend just graduated from Miamisburg High School and will be leaving for the Marines soon and watching them play tonight reminded me that they are not little kids anymore

It is pretty late and I have a busy day at work tomorrow, so better get to bed!

Monday July 6, 2009

I weighed myself this morning and was a little disappointed that according to my Wii Fit. I am up 5 pounds from the weekend. I know in my head that there is no way that I gained 5 pounds from one free day but it is still a bummer to wake up to.

It takes 3500 extra calories in order to gain one pound of fat so I would have had to eat 17500 calories in order to gain that much weight. That pulled pork was good but nothing is that good.

The morning got better when I went out to run. My goal for the summer was to be able to jog for a half an hour without stopping. Well, I did it today! Okay, a lot of my route was downhill but I still did it so it counts.

I made the boys Duncan Hines lowfat brownies made with applesauce instead of oil and egg whites instead of whole egg. I cooked them in cupcake liners so they could have them with bananas in the car on the way to the lake.

We went to Caesar Creek State Park for the afternoon. I put dinner in the crock pot before we left so it was done when we got home. I put Hillshire Farms Turkey Sausage in the crockpot and added canned potatoes, and a bag of Kroger frozen chopped onions and peppers and a couple cans of Kroger chili chopped tomatoes.

When we got home I made a couple of boxes of Jiffy corn bread and dinner was done. The boys had football practice so they rested for a while after they ate so I had time to work on the website and return a few phone calls for the salon.

I have been off a couple of days because of the holiday so it seems like I haven’t worked for forever. I am missing it so I guess it is true that absence makes the heart grow fonder- or just absence makes the bank account grow smaller.

I am off to bed hoping that in the morning my weight will be back down to where I was before my pig out day.

Sunday July 5, 2009

We didn’t do much of anything today. I got up and made pancakes and then that was it for a while. Bill and I worked on the website until pretty late in the afternoon and then we all got the great idea to go camping at Rocky Fork State Park- tonight.

After a few minutes of discussion we figured out we may be needed to plan a little better for an adventure like that. We ended up going to
Long John Silver’s. The guys wanted to try the new fish tacos and I got the vegetable medley.

We went to
Germantown Dam for fishing. There are stairs that go up the dam so I decided to go up and down a few times. I went up and back down twice and then had a burst of energy that caused me to run up and down them 5 times.

I have never done that before. I walked up and down a few more times to let my heart catch up and then went over to where everyone else was fishing. My legs started shaking so much while I was standing there that I looked like I was doing some weird tribal type dance.

Eventually I stopped dancing and sat down to work on my coupons till they got done fishing. I wonder if I am going to be sore tomorrow? At least I got in a little bit of a workout today. Tomorrow starts a new week so hopefully I will be able to walk or even dance..
.

Saturday July 4, 2009
I am up early today to get ready for our 4th of July stuff. The guys want pulled pork for dinner from GFS so I need to run and pick it up so it can start cooking.

We are going to a parade this morning and then there is a festival that starts right after the parade. Then we are going to the festival in our town and then fireworks.

It is supposed to rain so we will see how much we really get to do. I thought we would be walking around a lot today so I didn’t do any cardio this morning. Holidays are free days for me so it will all work out.

We went to the Centerville parade this morning. I was pretty aggravated by how rude people are. We stopped at McDonalds to get breakfast and coffee then went to the parade early enough to get good seats.

We were there an hour early and sat by the end of the parade route. We were sitting on a curb behind a barricade and the police said that no one could sit by the barricades in case an emergency vehicle had to leave the parade.

So we sat waiting for the parade and as the time got closer for the parade to start people started standing in front of us by the barricade. The police told a few people they had to move but I guess they decided not to bother with it and let people stay. People actually stood right in front of us. How rude!

Then, a little girl walked up to me and stomped on my foot for no reason. I looked at her rather shocked and her mother laughed. Really? So would she have laughed if I walked up and pulled her piggy tails? I think not.

After the parade we came home and finished making dinner. We made Cole slaw and baked potato salad to go with the pulled pork. The boys are excited because I got them white bread buns. I normally only buy wheat bread. I really can’t taste much of a difference but apparently they can. I think they are more excited about the white bread than the rest of the meal.

We ate an early dinner and then went to the West Carrollton 4th of July festival. It was raining so there weren’t many people there. It was fun though. Bill’s friend (Perry Love) has a business called Busy Bouncing and he had his bouncers at the festival.

We were hoping to run into him there but he has lots of bouncers out today so he wasn’t there. I think he also had bouncers at the Centerville festival. Anyway there was a platform combat bouncer that the boys liked a lot. The bouncer had inflatable platforms they stood on and beat the heck out of each other with giant blow up batons. It was really funny.

After the festival we came back home to eat dinner and see if the rain is going to go away or if the fireworks are going to be cancelled.  So far the rain has let up a little so I think we are going to go.

We can see the fireworks from my salon parking lot so we are going to go and let the boys do their smoke thingies and sparklers.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

Friday July 3, 2009
I have been searching the internet for weight loss to see what comes up...

Okay, the truth is I was searching to see how far up our website is on
Google. Anyway, I am amazed at all of the different things that are out there and how much of it I disagree with.

I know I am not a nutritionist but some of it even sounds dangerous. I do not believe that any diet that tells people to drastically cut calories is a good thing in the long run.

Calories are energy. If you cut back too far how do you have enough energy for all the stuff we have to do in life. Your body then thinks it is starving and slows down everything to conserve energy including your metabolism. So then you are eating very little and still not losing weight and you are tired and grouchy.

Then there are the diets that tell you that you can lose weight without exercise. This may be true but if you don’t tone up while you lose weight you just end up with extra skin. And that is just not cute no matter what size you are.

Or what about the diets like Atkins that tell you to give up carbs or severly limit them. I have done this diet and when reading the books the explanation makes sense. But after being on this diet for a week I would have rather eaten my shoe that another piece of bacon.

My point to all of this rambling is that whatever you choose think about if you can keep it up forever. This is not a short term fix. On any diet there is going to come a day when you go back to eating normally.

What will you do then if you have not learned how to be healthy. That is one reason why I don’t give a “diet” to follow. I want people to learn how to be healthy not follow someone else’s idea of healthy.

Other than a few real medical conditions the key to weight loss really is calories in verses calories out. It really is not that difficult once you know basic nutrition and make it into a habit. Okay, I am stepping off of my soap box for tonight….

Wednesday July 1, 2009

There was an article in Dayton Daily News today that
Ohio is now the tenth fattest state in the United States!

One of the comments stated that the increase in obesity in Ohio could be partly because of how hard we have been hit by unemployment in this state. People eat out of depression. I can completely relate to this.

I am really trying to come up with a way to be able to reach more people especially right now. If I could just help people who are struggling with their weight,  maybe I could help people who feel out of control in their life find hope.

There have been many times in my life where I have eaten and eaten because I was scared or sad or whatever and at the time it made me feel better. But then the reality hits that the problem is still there and now so are extra pounds. That would just make me feel worse.

Our life right now is pretty stressful too. I have learned to find other ways to deal with the stress other than food.

I love coupon shopping. I know it sounds weird but there is a kind of high getting things for free or almost free (legally). Cutting out all those coupons and looking over the ads for
Kroger, Meijer, Cub Foods and Walgreens takes my mind off of food.

I also really love doing yoga on the
Wii Fit! If all else fails and I think I might give in and eat when I know I shouldn’t I go to bed.

I can always use a little more sleep.  I really do agree that “nothing tastes as good as losing weight feels!”

Tuesday June 30, 2009
We have changed the format of the entire Weigh Less Habits Program.  I am very excited about the new format and how it is set up. I have wanted to be more personally involved and Bill set it up so that I can do that now.

Now there is a profile for everyone to fill out. I can use the profiles to be more individual in the programs.

Please email me or leave comments anytime I can help answer questions. Also, I am adding content to the “Let’s Talk” message boards so please check them out and post your ideas so we can grow that part too.  We can all help each other!

I only have 8 pounds left to lose to reach my goal of 100 pound weight loss so I am stepping up my program a little. I have started jogging a little more.

My goal is to be able to jog/run for 30 minutes at a time.  Right now I can do about 20 minutes before I have to slow down to catch my breath (sooner than that if I go up a hill)

A year ago I started and I walked 5 minutes then ran 1 minute. My goal is 30 minutes by the end of the summer.  8 more pounds and 30 minute runs are my short term goals- what are yours?  Don’t say “I want to…….” Want to is just a wish.  Goals are stepping stones to where you want to go. Make sure they are solid so that they can carry you when you need a little extra help.

Monday June 29, 2009

I was watching a tv show today called
“Obsession” and there was a man who was 500 pounds.  But that is not what really shocked me. During the course of the show I learned that morbidly obese is classified as being 100 pounds over ideal weight. I am surprised to realize that I was morbidly obese for many years.

The term “morbidly” is what freaks me out.  I am determined to not let myself go back to that. I love wearing shorts again and not being embarrassed, I love my bathing suit this year, I love that I can keep up with my kids, and yes I love the attention I occasionally get from people noticing my weight loss.

I feel like this is who I really am and I truly want to help anyone else feel the same way. I know that if I can get to this point anyone can!

Well, after a way too long break I am back to blogging. I have been trying to optimize the website to make it the best it can be for everyone.

I have figured out that I should just write and hope that I can reach people through the website. I tend to get a little obsessive and then lose sight of what I really want to do and that is help others figure out how to be healthier.

So now I am back, just like with weight loss this isn’t all or nothing.  Some days will be better than others but I will keep trying.

We went to the lake today and hung out at the beach. I would like to say I swam all day or even played frisbee to get some exercise but the truth is I slept most of the afternoon.

We came back home to make dinner. I made pasta salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, burgers and chicken breasts on the George Foreman grill. I ate the chicken, corn and baked beans.

Pretty good right? Sweet tooth struck and we went to McDonalds for hot fudge sundaes. That sundae was really good!!! It’s all about balance.

Why be healthy if you can’t sometimes have fun with your food. Tomorrow I will go back to exercising and no more sundaes for a little while.

I learned a new weight loss tip today.  Laughter is great for your abs and your heart. Laughing contracts your abs and increases your blood circulation. Lucky for me I provide myself with plenty of things to laugh about over the course of each day.  You would think I would have abs of steel.

Try to find humor in things everyday not only will it improve your mood but can also burn extra calories and help tone your midsection.  Tomorrow when I trip going up the stairs at work which I do almost daily, or any of the other clumsy things I do I can feel better knowing I have helped someone around me burn calories and strengthen their core. That should make me feel better- yeah right…..

I was kind of feeling lazy this weekend. Saturday I did yoga and then 10 minutes of hoola hoop and 20 minutes free run on Wii fit. I love my
Wii & Wii Fit !!

At work Saturday a friend of mine started talking about trying something new so we decided on taking a pole dancing class.
Kira's Oasis is a dance studio in Centerville Ohio.
